Sign up with your email, set a strong password, turn on 2FA. The first time you sign in, Vault shows you a recovery phrase. Write it down somewhere you trust. That phrase is the only way back into your encrypted catalog if you ever lose access.
Lost access?Drag a folder into Vault. Use the Mac batch uploader for thousands of tracks at once. Use the Chrome extension to pull a library out of Disco or another tool. Folders become playlist trees. Duplicates of files you already have are detected for you.

Only if you saved your recovery phrase when you signed up. Your catalog is encrypted before it leaves your device. The recovery phrase is the only key back in. If you lose your password and your recovery phrase, nobody at Session™ Vault can decrypt your audio for you. That tradeoff is the point: nobody else can be subpoenaed for your masters either.
If you have your phrase, head to Settings > Privacy > Recover with phrase.
No. Our AI models are trained on licensed datasets only. Your tracks pass through analysis (BPM, key, lyrics, stems, search index) but those analyses are yours, not training data. This is contractual, not just policy. See Terms §3.
Two paths. (1) Export your catalog as a zip, then drop it into the Mac batch uploader or the Chrome extension. Folders rebuild as playlists. Files you already have are detected automatically. (2) The Chrome extension can pull some libraries directly with your consent (currently in beta). If we don't support a tool you need, email [email protected] and we'll prioritize it.
Not yet. Vault embeds an inaudible per-recipient watermark on supported tiers. We need to know the template to attribute leaks back to whoever leaked. Rolling your own would break that. If you have a specific watermarking workflow you'd like supported, email [email protected].
Open Settings > Plan and pick a new tier. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. If your catalog or features exceed what the new tier allows, we'll walk you through the options before the change kicks in. There's a 30-day grace if you cancel.
Open Settings > Privacy > Delete account. Once you confirm, your account is marked for deletion and your subscription cancels. Within hours, every audio file you uploaded is removed from our storage and every database record tied to your account is dropped. We log the deletion so you can verify it ran. GDPR Article 17 compliance.
Yes. Encrypted backups are taken on a regular cadence and replicated across geographic regions for disaster recovery. We never operate from a single drive or single region.
Yes. Open Settings > Privacy > Export and we'll send you a download with your full catalog metadata, every playlist, every share you've created. GDPR Article 20. The original audio files are linked from the export.
Browser playback uses a streaming-friendly version of your file that we generate when you upload. If a track has no streaming version yet (usually a very large source file or one that came in through an older import path), open it once from the desktop or mobile app to trigger generation. After that it plays everywhere. If it still won't play after a refresh, hit Submit Beta Feedback and we'll look at it.
Hit Submit Beta Feedback in the topbar (or ⌘ /). Tell us what broke and what you expected to happen. The modal lets you opt in to attach diagnostics so engineering can reproduce it without playing detective. Everything routes to a private channel a real human reads within minutes.
We aim to reply within one business day. We will never ask for your password or your recovery phrase. If anyone claiming to be from Session™ Vault asks for either, it is not us.
